A new research unit led by David Vilchez and Thorsten Hoppe on "Cell non-autonomous regulation of organismal proteostasis" has been accepted for funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG). It aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the systemic regulation of proteostasis in healthy and diseased states. The long-term goal is to investigate how quality control is coordinated across organs in response to environmental and metabolic changes. Various laboratories from the University of Cologne, the University Hospital Cologne and the University of Konstanz are part of this research unit RU 5762.
